The biggest highlight of the new alerts feature can be that users sitting on their Facebook Profile will currently see notifications about completely new, unseen posts in their Friends widget, and are not required to plod through their entire Facebook News Feed to locate or browse these posts.
The alerts about unseen posts are merely visible in the Friends widget for the user's Profile page, and don't extend to the Friends page that lists almost all friends on Facebook. New posts are recommended with blue dots that show under the names of the pals who just posted something on Facebook and possess not yet seen with the user. The blue dot is also accompanied by the counts for the volume of posts. Previously, it was speculated the alerts only show for the thumbnail of friends having verified profiles, however even as can see, that's not the case with the wider rollout of the feature in testing.

Clicking on the thumbnail with a notification will only open the friend's regular Profile page, and seeing that you'd expect, the new 'unseen' posts have emerged as new posts for the wall. The only visible difference was in the URL, which now contains the attribute "pnref=lhc. unseen". The feature will in addition allow users to skip through the majority of the ads that appear with our News Feed. As of now, details about how the feature works remain limited. There is also no word about how Facebook chooses the friends visible from the user's Friends widget.
Recent reports also advertised that Facebook was testing an attribute that allowed users knowing whenever a friend was typing some sort of comment. The feature even with being small could come handy in how customers interacted with Facebook posts. The social networking company had revealed that it was testing the feature with a limited number of customers on iOS.
